Mysemicolonstory goes to Washington!

Next week, I will be going to Washington DC as a part of a coalition of cancer-related organizations to speak with congress people about health care. Specifically, we will be talking to them about medical imagery - CT scans, MRI's etc - and the critical need to have these tests as a core tool in treating cancer patients. I hope it will be a productive visit and I look forward to sharing the story with you all! I don't go until mid-next week, but I'll let you know all about it when I get back!

And I promise to wear matching socks....

They could not have chosen a better spokesperson. You are a great communicator.

When you first wrote about healthcare, I sent copies of your healthcare blog to all the federal legislators in PA and NJ who represent my districts.

The only 2 that responded were Sen Bob Casey PA and Rep Frank Pallone NJ.

All the other members of congress in PA and NJ just ignored the email. DOes that say anything about their supposed interest in what John Q Public has to say.

Casey responded by email with a boilerplate response; Pallone did a little better with a personalized snail mail letter to me which addressed the health care issue, but not to anything I had in my email to him.

If anyone reading Brian's blog has written and received a direct response from a member of congress perhaps you will let us know. Maybe when Brian meets up with these clowns, he can thank them or comment on their failure to respond to emails.

Whether these MCs are for or again HR3200 they ARE answerable to their constituencies. Midterm elections hopefully will separate the wheat from the chaff.

Go get them Brian. Love, Mom

Cool Brian. I know you'll represent very well. I really enjoyed reading your writing about healthcare reform. I'm glad to see your mom sent your articles to her congressmen. I thought they deserved to be published or put to good work. Have a good trip. Can't wait to read your report when you get home. Love, Carolyn
