Round 8

Since I use the web to track myself, I thought I’d add a quick entry on Round 8. Rob unplugged me yesterday. It has been a relatively easy round. The side effects of Oxaliplatin (which I stopped taking after Round 6) seem to really be waning. The doc said it would be worse before it got better and the last three weeks have been bad. But since last Friday and through this round so far, it’s not bad. I even have an appetite. Since I lost about 5 pounds in the last two weeks, perhaps I can gain some of it back!

PS - This is Dale Earnhardt Jr even though I prefer Denny Hamlin (from Chesterfield, VA) but I can't use Denny til round 11....

Dale Jr doesn't drive the 8 anymore. He left the family team (DEI) two years ago and joined Hendrick, where he drives the 88. DEI has run different drivers in the 8 car since. Currently Aric Almirola drives it.

Glad your doing well...

Yeah, I know Dale Jr moved on to the 88 - takes a NASCAR fan like yourself to point it out, though! And I sure as heck don't want 88 rounds of chemo!

Besides - Denny's my boy ....

I know absolutely nothing about NASCAR, except that it involves cars. (right?). But I am old enough to remember the show 8 is Enough.

Nice to hear some good news Brian!

Denny Hamlin's my boy, from Chesterfield, uh-huh, that's right... that makes me laugh! I remember our conversations about Denny, making sure we'd said it just right! You've been in my thoughts and prayers and it's soo good to see your smile!

Miss you much! - Adriann

Hi Brian, I just wanted to say hi. I hope you're enjoying the beautiful Spring day today. I'm glad to hear things have been a little better recently. Maybe you're through the worst of it. Thanks for continuing to blog. We all check frequently, and continue to have you and all the Birminghams in our thoughts frequently.

See you soon! Love, Carolyn

Wait, NASCAR is that thing where they waist gas going round and round correct.....went to a race once (Penn. 500) - when they started the cars, it was great for about 5 minutes. When they started racing, it was great for another 5 minutes. When they started pitting, it was great for another 5 minutes. When the first accident happened and the fans wanted to see blood.....it was all over!!!
Never saw anything like that on 8 is enough!
Love you bud...keep the chin and bloggs up!
